Manufacturing Engineer - Tool Design

The tool design engineer has the responsibility of designing and supporting the manufacture of Tools & fixtures required for machining, Assembly & Testing. Work with manufacturing, Quality & Design team to validate the design and successful implementation of processes.

As a Manufacturing Engineer - Tool Design, you will be responsible for:

  • Designing tools & Fixtures required for manufacturing, and analyze existing tooling designs and improve on them.

  • Developing blueprints for new tooling designs as per manufacturing requirement

  • Carrying out quality assurance tests/validation on new designs. Developing Manufacturing processes for Product flow, Assembly, Testing, Tools & fixture requirement.

  • Having the ability to interpret drawings, technical specifications & other design details required for manufacturing and assembly. Preparation of Work Instruction for Assembly, Testing.

  • Having the ability to identify failure modes, root cause analysis & drive corrective actions.
    Identifying & implementing continuous improvement opportunities on Safety, Quality, Delivery & Cost.

  • Having Knowledge in Six Sigma techniques for Capability Analysis, Trending analysis, Gauge R&R, FMEA

  • Making sure the tooling required for a job is ready to begin the production

  • Developing Documentation of tooling development, Reviewing the performance of tools – inspecting and evaluate the tool from time to time.

  • Training operators on new tools/fixtures and its process. Provide a guideline to the technician on maintenance and repair procedure of new tool.

Fuel your passion, To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have bachelors in mechanical engineering from an accredited college with 3 to 5 yrs. of significant work experience in tool, and design in the manufacturing industry.

  • Have expertise in using tools like Autocad, and Solidworks Knowledge of Material standards, hydro test standards, mechanical properties, tolerances, and Pneumatics.

  • Have good Oral and Written Communication Skills & have the ability to work individually.

  • Demonstrate problem-solving skills.
